How TLC Nails and Esthetics Began
My journey into beauty began long before my licenses. For over five years, I practiced nails on myself, friends, and family, perfecting designs, experimenting with products, and finding joy in the process of bringing a client's vision to life.
I was always particular about my own nail appointments, and that need for perfection sparked a thought: Why not be the one delivering that experience to others?
Taking the leap wasn't easy. While balancing family life, I completed my nail technician training in Maryland through three months of intensive night classes. Shortly after, I earned my second license as an esthetician, a field that allowed me to merge my love for nails with advanced skin services like precision waxing.

In school, I gravitated toward the services I knew would define my brand, mastering Gel X application (a skill few nail techs offer and execute correctly) and perfecting Brazilian waxing techniques that make the process quick, thorough, and as painless as possible.
TLC Nails and Esthetics first operated out of my home, where I transformed my front room into a serene mini-studio with calming decor and a welcoming atmosphere. While I loved that chapter, moving into my private suite improved the entire client experience: more privacy, natural light, a peaceful ambiance, and truly uninterrupted one-on-one appointments.

Say goodbye to your mediocre nail salon. Thiara is the best nail tech I've had since living in Europe and New York. She has built a gorgeous salon in her beautiful home that is clean and serene. She is knowledgeable, talented, and lovely. After having terrible experiences at literally 5 different nail salons in Bel Air and Forest Hill, I decided to try a private nail tech and I am here to stay. For the acrylic girlies, this is your sign to give Gel X a try. Thiara's system is well worth converting to. Plus, her prices are great.
TLC was exactly what I've been longing for over several years: a professional nail manicurist that is knowledgeable, skillful, and really cares about the health of my nails. I had my first builder gel manicure with Thiara today, and I couldn't be more impressed. She is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly prioritizes the health and integrity of your nails. Her attention to detail is outstanding. The final result was absolutely impeccable, and she truly didn't miss a thing.
Thiara's work speaks for itself, and when it comes to designs, inspo, and work, she is a perfectionist which I love. Every time I get my nails done with her I am happy and satisfied. Her work area and space are always clean, her prices are reasonable, and her customer service is top tier.
I had an awesome experience with Thiara. She is so nice and her shop is warm and welcoming. I love that she's into nail care, which is exactly what I need. I asked for a very intricate design and she nailed it. She's very professional and you can tell she really loves what she does.
Thiara did an amazing job on my manicure. Not only was she quick, but she was efficient. My Gel X service was done in less than an hour and I did not feel like it was rushed. Oh, and she made sure my nails are within Army regulations.

On the skin side, waxing goes from a bikini wax through a Brazilian wax, and my spa packages put nails and waxing into one visit. If an old set has to come off first, I book nail removal on its own so there is time to do it gently.

At TLC Nails and Esthetics that work is done by Thiara, who holds a Maryland esthetician license alongside her nail technician license, so nails and skin are handled by the same person in the same room.
Yes. Thiara holds two Maryland licenses: nail technician, earned in 2024, and esthetician, earned in 2025. Both hang framed on the suite wall. The second license is what allows the waxing side of the menu to sit next to the nail side.
The booking menu covers nails, waxing, and spa packages. On the nail side that means gel manicures, hard gel, BIAB structured manicures, Gel X extensions and fill ins, gel polish changes, and nail removal. On the waxing side it runs from lip and chin through underarm, arm, leg, stomach, back, chest, bikini, extended bikini, and Brazilian.

The suite is open Monday through Wednesday from 9 AM to 6 PM, Friday and Saturday from 9 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday from 9 AM to 3 PM. Thursday is closed.
