Nail Art
in Nottingham, MD
Every design on this page is Thiara's own work, hand-painted one client at a time in a private suite in Nottingham, MD. Design work is priced in three flat tiers, starting at $20.

What Nail Art Costs
Nail art is priced by design tier, not by how many fingers it goes on. Pick a tier below and it applies to one accent nail or all ten, the same price either way.
| Tier | What's included | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Simple | Dots, lines, glitter, decals | $20 |
| Intermediate | French, ombré, cat‑eye, aura | $30 |
| Advanced | Characters, 3D, encapsulation, themed | $50 |
The tier price holds across every base service, whether the canvas is a gel manicure, BIAB, Hard Gel, Gel X, or the gel manicure inside one of the spa packages.
French Tips, Line Art, and Everyday Color
A gel manicure is the base most clients start with, solid color included, design tiers added on top. French tips live in the Intermediate tier, and simple line work or glitter accents fit the Simple tier.

Swirls, Waves, and Charm Accents on BIAB
BIAB's flexible structure holds detailed hand-painted work well, which is why so much of Thiara's design work lands here. See the full BIAB page for pricing and what the service includes.

Bold Color and Chrome on a Tougher Overlay
Hard Gel is TLC's stiffer, more durable builder, and its dense finish is a strong base for saturated color and chrome. Clients moving away from acrylic often land here first, and acrylic nail removal is booked as its own appointment.

Length, Shape, and Marble on Extensions
Gel X extensions add the length a design needs to really show, coffin and almond shapes especially. Color and finish are picked together before the design goes on.

How a Custom Design Appointment Works
Bring an inspo photo
A screenshot, a Pinterest save, or just a description works. Thiara talks through it with you before starting.
Mention it when you book
Note the design in your booking so the appointment is scheduled with the extra time it needs.
Pick the base service
Gel manicure, BIAB, Hard Gel, or Gel X. The design tier price is the same regardless of which one you choose.
The design goes on last
Base service first, then the hand-painted work, then cure and finish, all in the same private appointment.
Every design here was painted by hand, one client at a time.
Worth knowing: every design is hand-painted on a gel manicure, BIAB, Hard Gel, or Gel X base. TLC does not apply acrylic overlays or press-on tips, and design work stays on hands.

Say goodbye to your mediocre nail salon. Thiara is the best nail tech I've had since living in Europe and New York. She has built a gorgeous salon in her beautiful home that is clean and serene. She is knowledgeable, talented, and lovely. After having terrible experiences at literally 5 different nail salons in Bel Air and Forest Hill, I decided to try a private nail tech and I am here to stay. For the acrylic girlies, this is your sign to give Gel X a try. Thiara's system is well worth converting to. Plus, her prices are great.
TLC was exactly what I've been longing for over several years: a professional nail manicurist that is knowledgeable, skillful, and really cares about the health of my nails. Thiara was very patient, answered all of my concerns, and educated me on the particulars of BIAB. I love how my nails turned out and I finally can rest from shopping all around for a professional manicurist.
Just moved to the area and was looking for a new nail tech, insanely happy to have found TLC! I normally go for a square nail but we talked and I went for coffin, and I love them! I actually bumped up my timeline for my next fill just because I'm so excited to see how nice the next design looks
Thiara's work speaks for itself, and when it comes to designs, inspo, and work, she is a perfectionist which I love. Every time I get my nails done with her I am happy and satisfied. Her work area and space are always clean, her prices are reasonable, and her customer service is top tier.
I'm so glad I found Thiara as my new nail tech. I'm on my third hard gel set with her and I know they're going to last me a full 3 weeks until my next appointment. Her studio is super clean and she's very professional. She even mixed nail polishes to color match an inspo pic I showed her.
I had an awesome experience with Thiara. She is so nice and her shop is warm and welcoming. I love that she's into nail care, which is exactly what I need. I asked for a very intricate design and she nailed it. She's very professional and you can tell she really loves what she does.
Thiara did an amazing job on my manicure. Not only was she quick, but she was efficient. My Gel X service was done in less than an hour and I did not feel like it was rushed. Oh, and she made sure my nails are within Army regulations.
I've done my nails with Thiara several times and I am so happy with her work. I usually don't like other people doing my nails, but I'm comfortable with her. I've done extensions and natural nails and she excels at both.
Love this set, I can't wait for my next one. I've been searching for somebody to do this style correctly and I've finally found it. Simple, but no one can manage to get this length and these results. Super grateful.
I love my nails. She did it exactly like the picture.
She literally is amazing, and always fulfills my creative desires. 10/10.
10/10 would recommend. Her services are amazing and fast. Love her for nails and waxing.
My nails look lovely. I appreciate the attention to detail. I already booked my next appointment. Highly recommend.
I enjoyed my experience at TLC. Thiara is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her craft. I'll be sure to return.
It has been a pleasure to meet with T. I showed her an inspo pic and she exceeded my expectations. Can't wait to get my nails done by her again.
Thiara was very patient and willing to recommend what is best for you, and that was my favorite part. I left with fab nails and on my way to having healthier nails. Definitely recommend.
I had a wonderful experience for my Mother's Day set, I have not been to a nail salon in years due to always been dissatisfied with the end result, needless to say I will be a return customer.
I really love the gel sets. They are less harsh on my nails and lasted a few days short of a month. The design was professional enough for work but also jazzy enough for everyday outings. I'll definitely be back.

Nail Art FAQs
Nail art is hand-painted or hand-applied design work added on top of a base nail service, from a few simple dots to a full 3D themed set. At TLC Nails and Esthetics, every design is painted by hand in a private suite in Nottingham, MD, one client at a time.
Nail art at TLC Nails and Esthetics runs in three flat-price tiers: Simple designs like dots, lines, glitter, and decals are $20, Intermediate designs like French, ombré, cat‑eye, and aura are $30, and Advanced work like characters, 3D, encapsulation, and themed sets is $50. Each price covers one accent nail or all ten, the same either way.
The Simple tier covers dots, lines, glitter, and decals. Intermediate covers French, ombré, cat‑eye, and aura designs. Advanced covers characters, 3D work, encapsulation, and themed sets. Each tier is a flat price whether the design goes on one accent nail or all ten.
Yes, and it helps. Bring any inspo picture you have, from a screenshot to a Pinterest board, and Thiara works from it directly, talking the design through with you before she starts. Several of the reviews on this page are from clients who came in with a photo.
Yes, nail art is available on every nail service TLC offers. The base service is the surface. The design tier is what gets painted on top, so the same three pricing tiers apply no matter which base service you booked.
A detailed design takes longer than a solid color, so let Thiara know what you have in mind when you book. She sets the appointment length with the design included, so the time for it is already there.
Nail art lasts as long as the base service it is painted on. That is two to three weeks on a gel manicure, three to four weeks on BIAB or Gel X, and about four weeks on Hard Gel. The design itself does not wear faster than the set underneath it.
Nail art sits on top of the base service, so the design itself adds no extra wear to the natural nail underneath. Nail health comes down to the base and the removal: every design at TLC is painted on a gel manicure, BIAB, Hard Gel, or Gel X, and each of those has a proper removal you book as its own appointment.
No. Every design at TLC is hand-painted on a gel manicure, BIAB, Hard Gel, or Gel X base, never on an acrylic overlay or a press-on tip. It is part of the same nail-health-first approach used across every service here.
Yes. A design can be painted over a solid gel manicure on your natural nail, no overlay or extension required. If you want more structure or length underneath the design, BIAB, Hard Gel, or Gel X are the options for that.
